1. Scope and provider

1.1 These General Terms and Conditions (Terms) apply to all contracts for the use of ShortBoost One (the website shortboost.one, the application app.shortboost.one, the short-link domain shlk.one, customers' custom domains connected to ShortBoost, and the programming interface; “ShortBoost” for short).

1.2 The provider and contracting party is Inexdu GmbH, Spitalbergweg 87, 9020 Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, Austria, FN 497589z, Regional Court of Klagenfurt, VAT ID ATU73554646, telephone +43 4212 30300, email support@shortboost.one (“we”, “us”).

1.3 ShortBoost is aimed at consumers and business customers (“you”, “customer”). A consumer is anyone who concludes the contract for purposes predominantly outside any commercial or self-employed professional activity; in Austria this also includes transactions made in preparation for future self-employment (§ 1 para. 3 KSchG). A business customer is anyone acting in the course of their commercial or self-employed professional activity. Rules that apply to only one of the two groups are marked as such.

1.4 Deviating terms and conditions of business customers apply only if we expressly agree to them in writing.

1.5 If you use ShortBoost through an account with BusinessBoost One (a product of Inexdu GmbH), price, term, payment and cancellation are governed by your contract for BusinessBoost One. These Terms apply to the use of ShortBoost.

2. Services and plans

2.1 ShortBoost is an online service for creating and managing short links. When someone opens a short link, we redirect them to the destination URL you have specified and record the visit for your statistics. ShortBoost is used in the browser; no installation is necessary. ShortBoost works with current versions of common browsers. For custom domains, you must configure the DNS records with your domain provider yourself.

2.2 We offer three plans. The service description on shortboost.one/#pricing at the time of your order is authoritative; it is stored with the contract confirmation.

Free

Pro

Lifetime

2.3 The limit of 20 custom domains protects the shared quota for security certificates; we will raise it on justified request.

2.4 We continue to develop ShortBoost. New features are available to Pro and Lifetime customers at no extra charge, unless we expressly offer them as a separate, separately paid add-on product. Changes to existing features are governed by clause 20.

3. Account and sign-in details

3.1 You need an account to use the service. You must be of legal age and have legal capacity, or act on behalf of a company you are authorised to represent. Your details must be accurate; if they change, update them in your account.

3.2 Keep your sign-in details secret. We recommend two-factor sign-in. If you suspect misuse of your account, please contact us immediately.

3.3 You can invite team members with roles. You are responsible to us for their actions in your account as if they were your own.

4. Conclusion of contract

4.1 Free

You register with your email address, accept these Terms and click the link in our confirmation email. The contract for the Free plan is concluded when you confirm your email address.

4.2 Pro and Lifetime: the technical steps

  1. Choose a plan: on shortboost.one or in the dashboard under Settings → Subscription & invoices. If you buy through the website without being signed in, we create your account automatically after payment and send you the sign-in details by email.
  2. Payment page: When you click “Buy” or “Get”, we redirect you to our payment service provider Stripe. There you will see the plan, price and final amount including VAT, choose the payment method, enter your billing address and, as a business customer, your VAT ID if you wish. Until you submit, you can correct all entries or cancel the checkout and return to the plan selection.
  3. Ordering: Directly above the payment button, we provide a link to these Terms; the data processing agreement is part of the Terms, and the withdrawal information and privacy policy are linked there. By clicking the payment button (“Subscribe” for Pro, “Pay” for Lifetime), you place an order with an obligation to pay, as stated in the note directly above the button, and these Terms become part of the contract.
  4. Conclusion of contract: The contract is concluded as soon as Stripe confirms the payment and we activate the plan in your account. If you cancel the payment or it fails, no contract is concluded.

4.3 Contract confirmation, contract text, language

Immediately after the conclusion of the contract, you receive a contract confirmation by email. It contains your order data, the version of these Terms to which you agreed, with the link to this page, the term and cancellation conditions and the withdrawal information with the model withdrawal form. We store the contract text (order data and Terms version). You can see your purchases and invoices at any time in the dashboard under Settings → Subscription & invoices; on request we send you the contract text again. You can retrieve, save and print the current version of these Terms on this page.

The contract language is German. We have not subscribed to any code of conduct.

4.4 Lifetime codes

Lifetime can also be activated with a Lifetime code, which you can redeem in the dashboard or on shortboost.one. We issue Lifetime codes ourselves or through sales partners. When you redeem the code, the Lifetime contract with us is concluded; these Terms apply to the use of ShortBoost. If you bought the code from a sales partner, payment, withdrawal and refund of the purchase price are governed by your contract with that partner. The 60-day money-back guarantee (clause 8) applies to purchases made directly from us.

5. Prices, payment, invoices

5.1 Our prices are net prices in euros. The VAT applicable to you is added:

5.2 We do not charge any further costs. Your payment provider may charge its own fees, for example for payments in a foreign currency.

5.3 Payment is processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. The payment methods shown in the payment window are available (for example credit card or SEPA direct debit). You pay Pro annually in advance, Lifetime once when ordering. You manage your payment details in the Stripe customer portal, which you can access via Settings → Subscription & invoices.

5.4 If a payment for Pro fails, Stripe retries it and we inform you by email. Your Pro features remain active for 7 days. If the payment has still not been received after that, we switch your account to Free (clause 10.1). If you subsequently make the payment, we reactivate Pro. Your obligation to pay for the current billing period remains in force.

5.5 You receive invoices electronically as a PDF; you can find them in the dashboard under Settings → Subscription & invoices. You agree to receive invoices electronically; on request we will send you an invoice by post.

5.6 Discount and promotional codes apply only under the conditions stated with the code. They cannot be combined with other codes and cannot be redeemed for cash.

6. Term, renewal and cancellation (Pro)

6.1 First year: Pro initially runs for a fixed term of one year from the conclusion of the contract (“first year”). The first year ends on the day before the anniversary of the conclusion of the contract (example: contract concluded on 14.03.2026, first year up to and including 13.03.2027). You can cancel at any time up to and including the last day of the first year, effective at its end; in that case, the contract does not renew and we will not debit any further amounts.

6.2 After the first year: If you do not cancel effective at the end of the first year, Pro continues for an indefinite period. We charge the annual price in advance for one year at a time (“billing year”) and debit it on the anniversary of the conclusion of the contract (in the example, on 14.03.2027 for the billing year from 14.03.2027 to 13.03.2028).

6.3 Cancellable at any time from the second year: From the end of the first year, you can cancel at any time with one month's notice effective at the end of a calendar month. We refund the annual price paid pro rata for each day between the end of the contract and the end of the billing year already paid (calculated on a daily basis) to the original payment method, no later than 14 days after the end of the contract.

Example: Your billing year runs from 14.03.2027 to 13.03.2028, which is 366 days (29.02.2028 falls within it). Your cancellation is received on 20.05.2027. The contract ends on 30.06.2027. The 257 days from 01.07.2027 to 13.03.2028 are unused. You will be refunded 257/366 of the annual price paid (for an annual price paid of 118.80 € – 99 € plus 20 % VAT – that is 83.42 €).

6.4 Reminder: About 30 days before the end of the first year and before each further billing year, we send you an email with the debit date, the amount and a note on how and by when you can cancel.

6.5 How to cancel:

We confirm every cancellation by email without undue delay, stating its content, the date and time of receipt and the date on which the contract ends. If no date is specified, the cancellation takes effect at the earliest possible date.

If a cancellation is submitted without signing in, we also send the confirmation to the account's email address. If the cancellation was not made by the account holder, they can undo it via the link in this email. We carry out a Lifetime cancellation submitted without signing in (clause 7.5) only after we have confirmed it via the account's email address; until then, Lifetime continues unchanged.

6.6 Your right to cancel without notice for good cause remains unaffected.

6.7 Switch from Pro to Lifetime: If you buy Lifetime, your Pro subscription ends without any further debit, and Lifetime begins. In the first year, we do not credit the Pro time already paid for and make no refund. From the second year, we refund the annual price paid pro rata for each day between the end of the Pro subscription and the end of the billing year paid (calculated on a daily basis), no later than 14 days after the end of the Pro subscription, as in clause 6.3.

7. Lifetime plan

7.1 With Lifetime, you can use the Pro scope of services without further payments for as long as we operate ShortBoost, but for at least 5 years from your purchase (“minimum period”). Lifetime is tied to your account.

7.2 If we discontinue ShortBoost, we announce this at least 6 months in advance by email. Until discontinuation you can export all data (clause 19).

7.3 If the service ends before the minimum period has expired, we refund one sixtieth of the price paid for each full month of the minimum period still remaining (for 297 € net, that is 4.95 € net per month, plus the VAT you paid). The refund is made no later than 14 days after discontinuation.

7.4 We cannot cancel the Lifetime plan by ordinary cancellation. Our right to cancel for good cause (clause 21.2) remains unaffected; in this case we refund the proportionate amount under clause 7.3 to the extent that we have no claim for damages against you.

7.5 You can end Lifetime at any time, online at shortboost.one/kuendigen or in the dashboard. Your account then switches to Free. Clause 6.5 applies to cancellations submitted without signing in. You receive a refund only under the right of withdrawal (clause 9) or the guarantee (clause 8).

8. 60-day money-back guarantee

8.1 In addition to your statutory rights, we give a voluntary money-back guarantee on the first purchase of Pro and the first purchase of Lifetime per account, if you bought directly from us.

8.2 Within 60 days from the conclusion of the contract, an informal message to support@shortboost.one is enough. You do not have to give a reason. We refund the full amount paid, including VAT, to the original means of payment, no later than 14 days after receipt of your message.

8.3 Upon the refund, the plan ends immediately and your account switches to Free (clause 10.1). Your data is retained.

8.4 The guarantee does not apply to Lifetime codes you bought from a sales partner; in that case, the partner's terms apply (clause 4.4). Your statutory rights, in particular the right of withdrawal and the statutory warranty, remain unaffected by the guarantee.

9. Right of withdrawal for consumers

9.1 As a consumer, you have a statutory right of withdrawal. You can find the complete withdrawal information with model withdrawal form on a separate page; you also receive it with the contract confirmation.

9.2 You can declare your withdrawal online: in the dashboard under Settings → Subscription & invoices (button “Withdraw from a contract”) or without signing in at shortboost.one/widerruf. We confirm receipt immediately by email. You can also withdraw by email or letter. If the withdrawal is declared neither after signing in nor with an order number, we verify before making the refund that it comes from the contracting party.

9.3 We activate your plan immediately after the conclusion of the contract. If you withdraw in time, we always refund the full amount paid; we charge nothing for your use of the service up to the withdrawal.

10. Switch to Free, account deletion

10.1 Switch to Free: If Pro or Lifetime ends (cancellation, withdrawal, guarantee or non-payment), your account switches to Free. We delete nothing in the process. If you have more than 10 active short links, the 10 newest remain active; the rest are paused. Anyone who opens a paused link sees a notice instead of the redirect. Links on custom domains are paused together with the domain. Settings you have already set up are retained; you can set up new Pro features only after a new purchase. Paused links work again immediately after a new purchase. We inform you of the switch by email.

10.2 Delete account: You can delete your account yourself in the dashboard under Settings → Profile → Delete account. Please export your data beforehand (clause 19). After the request the account is deactivated, and your short links no longer redirect. After 30 days we delete the account permanently. Until then you can cancel the deletion via support@shortboost.one.

10.3 Deletion ends all contracts relating to the account upon deactivation. For an ongoing Pro subscription, the following applies: in the first year we refund nothing, because the first year is agreed as a fixed term and you yourself decide to delete the account. From the second year, we refund the annual price paid pro rata for each day between the deactivation and the end of the billing year paid (calculated by the day), no later than 14 days after the deactivation. For Lifetime we refund nothing. Your rights arising from withdrawal (clause 9) and from the guarantee (clause 8) remain unaffected.

10.4 We delete data that we are required to retain for legal reasons (in particular invoices and accounting records, for seven years under § 132 BAO) only after these periods have expired. In our encrypted backups, deleted data expires after the periods stated there (see privacy policy).

11. Customer obligations, prohibited content

11.1 You are responsible for the destination addresses of your short links and for all content you add to ShortBoost (for example texts, logos, images, bubbles, pop-ups, countdowns).

11.2 In particular, it is not permitted to use ShortBoost for:

11.3 It is also not permitted to interfere with the technical operation of ShortBoost, circumvent security measures, extract data by automated means (except through our programming interface and within its limits), reverse-engineer the software except where permitted by law, or share access with persons outside your team.

11.4 If you breach these obligations, we can take the measures described in clause 12. If third parties assert justified claims against us because of your content, you, as a business customer, indemnify us against them to the extent you are responsible for the breach.

12. Moderation, checks and suspensions

In accordance with Art. 14 of the EU Regulation on digital services (Digital Services Act, DSA), these rules describe how we deal with content.

12.1 Automatic checks

We check destination addresses automatically, namely when a link is created or changed and then once a day for all active links (including variants, fallback destinations, Smart Routing destinations and button destinations of bubbles and pop-ups). In doing so, we only compare the address against:

If the check produces a match when a link is created, we do not save the link and show you the reason. If it produces a match during the daily check, we block the link automatically, without prior review by a person. A person then reviews such matches; if the block is unjustified, we lift it.

12.2 Reports by third parties

Anyone can report unlawful content or content that violates these Terms to us via shortboost.one/missbrauch. We confirm receipt, have a person review the report, decide in a diligent, objective and non-arbitrary manner, and notify the reporting person of our decision. We are not required to process manifestly unfounded reports any further.

12.3 Possible measures

We choose the least severe measure that is sufficient, taking into account the seriousness of the breach, whether it is repeated, and the legitimate interests of all parties involved, including fundamental rights such as freedom of expression:

Where visitors are at risk (for example from ongoing phishing), we block immediately.

12.4 Statement of reasons

We inform you of every measure by email, with a statement of reasons, no later than the time it takes effect: which measure we have taken, the facts on which we rely, whether the decision was taken, or the content detected, by automated means, the legal provision or clause of these Terms on which we rely, and the remedies available to you. This does not apply if an authority prohibits us from providing this information or if the content is deceptive high-volume commercial content.

12.5 Complaint

You can object to any measure by replying to our email or writing to support@shortboost.one. A person reviews your complaint and informs you of the outcome, with reasons. Your right to bring the matter before the courts remains unaffected.

12.6 Criminal offences

If we receive indications of a criminal offence that poses a danger to the life or safety of persons, we inform the competent authorities (Art. 18 DSA).

13. Retargeting pixel

13.1 Pro and Lifetime customers can add pixels from Meta, Google, TikTok and LinkedIn to short links. When the link is opened, the visitor's browser then loads the code of the respective provider and transmits data to it.

13.2 If a link has pixels, they are loaded by default for all visitors, regardless of which country they come from. Automated requests (bots) are not served any pixels.

13.3 You can enable the setting “Ask visitors for consent first” for each link. ShortBoost then shows a short prompt in your branding before the redirect. It names your company and the pixel providers, points out that data is also transmitted to the USA, and offers the buttons “Agree” and “Continue without” with equal weight. If the visitor agrees, the pixels are loaded; if they choose “Continue without”, they are redirected without pixels. We store the choice for 6 months in a technically necessary cookie on the short-link domain; it applies to all your links on this domain with the prompt enabled. Whether the prompt is legally sufficient for your use of the pixels (for example together with your privacy policy) is for you to assess.

13.4 You are responsible for the processing carried out by means of the pixels, where applicable jointly with the respective pixel provider. You ensure that there is a legal basis and that visitors are informed, and you conclude the necessary agreements with the pixel provider. Within the EU and the EEA, loading pixels generally requires the visitors' consent (in Austria § 165 para. 3 TKG 2021, in Germany § 25 TDDDG, and more generally Art. 5 para. 3 of the ePrivacy Directive). You decide whether to enable the prompt under clause 13.3 for this purpose or to obtain consent in another way; the same applies to the law of countries outside Europe where your visitors are located. We merely provide the technology and, in doing so, act as your processor (see AVV).

13.5 If third parties, in particular visitors, authorities or competitors, make claims against us because you use pixels without the required legal basis or without providing visitors with the necessary information, you, as a business customer, indemnify us against these claims and the reasonable costs of legal defence to the extent you are responsible for the breach. Clause 11.4 applies in addition.

14. Availability

14.1 We operate ShortBoost with the care of a diligent provider and aim for 99 % availability of the redirects on an annual average. If planned maintenance noticeably affects the redirects, we announce it at least 24 hours in advance in the dashboard or by email and schedule it, where possible, at times of low traffic.

14.2 Disruptions on the internet outside our servers, the DNS settings of your custom domains and the availability of your destination pages are outside our sphere of influence.

15. Statutory warranty

15.1 The statutory warranty applies. For consumers, the rules on digital services of the Consumer Warranty Act (VGG) apply: we ensure that ShortBoost conforms to the contract throughout the entire term of the contract and provide the updates necessary for this. Consumers in other EU countries additionally have the rights under the mandatory law of their country.

15.2 Please report defects to support@shortboost.one. We remedy them within a reasonable period. If we are unable to do so, you can reduce the price or terminate the contract in accordance with the statutory rules.

15.3 The 60-day guarantee (clause 8) applies in addition and does not restrict the statutory warranty.

16. Liability

16.1 We are liable without limitation for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for damage from injury to life, body or health, and under the Product Liability Act.

16.2 In cases of slight negligence we are liable only if we breach an essential contractual obligation. Essential obligations are those without which the contract cannot be properly performed and on whose observance you may regularly rely, for example forwarding your short links and protecting your data. In that case our liability is limited to the damage that was typically foreseeable at the conclusion of the contract.

16.3 In cases of slight negligence, our liability for loss of data is limited to the expense required to restore the data from our last proper backup. We back up the data daily.

16.4 For business customers only: In cases of slight negligence we are not liable for lost profit and indirect damage. Claims for damages become time-barred one year from knowledge of the damage and of the person who caused it, and at the latest three years after the event giving rise to the damage; clause 16.1 remains unaffected. The reversal of the burden of proof under § 1298 ABGB does not apply to slight negligence.

16.5 We are not responsible for the content of the destination pages to which short links point. Our obligations as a hosting service under the DSA remain unaffected.

16.6 These rules also apply to our employees and agents.

17. Rights in content and software

17.1 Your content (short links, destination addresses, texts, images, statistics) remains yours. You grant us only the rights we need to provide ShortBoost to you, for example to display your logo on your link pages. You confirm that you are entitled to grant these rights.

17.2 The ShortBoost software belongs to us or our licensors. For the term of the contract, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it within the scope of these Terms.

18. Data protection and data processing

18.1 How we process your data as controller is described in the privacy policy. It serves to inform you; you do not have to agree to it.

18.2 We process the data of visitors to your short links (click statistics) and carry out the delivery of pixels on your behalf. This is governed by the data processing agreement (AVV). It is part of these Terms and applies upon conclusion of every contract for ShortBoost, including on the Free plan.

18.3 For abuse prevention, the security of ShortBoost and the fulfilment of legal obligations, we process data as a controller in our own right.

19. Data export and switching providers

19.1 You can export your data yourself at any time: in the dashboard under Settings → Data export as a ZIP file with JSON and CSV files (short links, settings, click statistics). This is free of charge.

19.2 If you want to switch to another provider, we support you under the EU Data Act: you can request the switch with a notice period of no more than two months. From your request to switch, you have at least 30 days to export your data; until then your account remains accessible for this purpose. We charge no fee for switching. Our servers are located in a data centre of our hosting provider Hostinger in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

19.3 Redirects of your short links on the domain shlk.one end when the contract ends. You can continue to operate links on your custom domains with another provider by pointing the domain to that provider.

20. Changes to services, prices and Terms

20.1 Services

We may change ShortBoost if there is an objective reason for doing so: new statutory or regulatory requirements, security, changed interfaces of third-party providers (for example pixel providers), technical progress or new features. The change must not cost you anything extra, and the core service (creating, forwarding and analysing short links) is retained. If a change has more than a merely minor adverse effect on you, we inform you at least 30 days in advance by email. You can then terminate the contract free of charge within 30 days of being informed or of the change; we refund pro rata any amounts already paid for the period thereafter. For Lifetime, this refund is calculated in accordance with clause 7.3.

20.2 Prices

The price for Lifetime never changes after the purchase. For Pro, a new price applies at the earliest from the next billing year:

We pass price reductions on to all Pro customers from the next billing year. Changes to statutory VAT affect the final price directly.

20.3 Terms

We may change these Terms only to the extent necessary to adapt them to new laws or case law, to remove ambiguities, to reflect security measures or new features, and only to the extent that you are not placed at a disadvantage as a result. We do not use this procedure to change the scope of services, prices, term, cancellation rights, statutory warranty or liability to your disadvantage.

We send you the changes by email at least two months before they come into force, with a comparison of the changed passages. You can object until they come into force or cancel the contract free of charge with effect from the date they come into force. If you do not object, the changes are deemed accepted; we draw your particular attention to this consequence in the email. If you object, your contract continues under the previous Terms; we can then cancel it only under clause 21.1.

21. Cancellation by us

21.1 Ordinary: We can cancel Free with one month's notice and Pro with three months' notice to the end of a billing year. We cannot cancel Lifetime by ordinary cancellation (clause 7).

21.2 For good cause: We can cancel any contract without notice if we cannot reasonably be expected to continue it, in particular in the event of serious breaches of clause 11 or breaches repeated despite a warning, phishing or malware, late payment despite a reminder, or false personal details. Where blocking is sufficient, we block first (clause 12). We refund pro rata any amounts paid in advance for the period after the end of the contract, except to the extent that we have a claim for damages against you.

21.3 We give notice of cancellation by email to the address of your account and, in the case of cancellation for good cause, state the reasons.

22. Governing law, place of jurisdiction, dispute resolution

22.1 Austrian law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and the conflict-of-law rules of private international law. For consumers, this choice of law applies only to the extent that it does not deprive them of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the state in which they have their habitual residence.

22.2 Business customers: The exclusive place of jurisdiction is the court with subject-matter jurisdiction for Klagenfurt am Wörthersee. Consumers can sue at their place of residence or at our registered office; we can sue consumers only at their place of residence.

22.3 Please address complaints to support@shortboost.one; we usually reply within two working days. We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer dispute resolution body. If we cannot resolve a complaint amicably, we will inform you of the competent dispute resolution body (for Austria the Internet Ombudsstelle, ombudsstelle.at) and tell you whether we will take part in proceedings before it.

23. Final provisions

23.1 You can send us notices relating to the contract by email, via the online features or by letter. We write to you at the email address of your account.

23.2 Business customers may transfer rights and obligations under the contract only with our consent.

23.3 If a provision of these Terms is invalid, the other provisions remain valid. In relation to business customers, the invalid provision is replaced by a valid provision that comes closest to its economic purpose. In relation to consumers, the law applies instead.
